The Board of School Directors of the School District of Jenkintown will hold a special meeting on February 6, 2012 at 7:30 PM in the Community Room at 325 Highland Avenue, Jenkintown, PA 19046 to discuss negotiations, personnel issues and address other business which may come before the Jenkintown Board of School Directors.
Helping children with ADHD to improve their social skills is often ineffective due to the fact that traditional methods do not get to the foundation of social learning. Ryan will speak about the conceptual framework for Social Thinking, and how it helps children develop social cognition by teaching them to think about themselves in the context of social situations. Ryan is the founder and director of Camp Sequoia, an overnight summer camp in Pottstown, PA (www.campsequoia. com), and the Sequoia Kids Program, a school-year program for children with social-cognitive challenges.

The Elementary School is again participating in Pasta for Pennies. The program starts on 2/13/12 and runs until 2/24/2012. Each class brings in pennies (or other coins). The coins are tallied on a daily basis. The class with the most collected for the time period will have a pasta party from the Olive Garden. In addition, our school may be eligible for a gift card to Staples Office Supply Store.
The Board of School Directors of the School District of Jenkintown hereby gives the following NOTICE that the School District intends to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for one or more exceptions allowing the School District to raise property taxes by a percentage greater than the Index published by the Pennsylvania Department of Education pursuant to Act 1 of 2006 (“Act 1”).
