Art Goes to School - Visits each classroom to teach art appreciation using a portfolio of art reproductions provided by the “Art Goes to School” organization. [ES]

Adrienne Brockwell, Kate Gearhart

Athletic Dinner - Arranges the dinner at the end of the year to honor our Varsity athletes, coaches, athletic director, parents of senior athletes and Hall of Fame inductees.  Parents of junior athletes arrange the event and recruit next year’s Chair. [HS]

Marilyn Kinniry

Cafeteria – Coordinates parent volunteers to assist elementary school students during lunch times. [ES]

Eileen Ottaviano

Curriculum Committee -  Reviews requests for minigrants submitted by teachers, administrators, etc.

CISV - Coordinates the activities necessary for Jenkintown to participate in the Children’s International Summer Village (CISV).

Environmental Awareness - Spearheads environmental initiatives and projects in the school, including the walk-to-school week.

Boxtops/Campbells’ Labels - Communicates information on collection of items, tallies, and submits them & provides updates on results.

Bingo Night – Schedules, plans and executes Bingo Night event.

Red & Blue Fair - Plans and manages the annual fair, our largest fundraiser which is held in May.  Many volunteers are needed.  All parents are requested to volunteer 1 hour during the fair and will be contacted by their Homeroom Parent in May to schedule their time.

Jog-A-Thon – Organizes and supervises Jog-a-Thon fundraiser.

Jennifer Black Kostacos

Homeroom Parent Coordinator - Recruits Homeroom Parents for each elementary school grade and communicates with and distributes information to the Homeroom Parents throughout the year. [ES]

Honors Trip - Plans and executes annual Spring trip for High School Students achieving Honors status for the academic year. [HS]

Hospitality – Organizes Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.

Jenkintown Music Theatre - Serves as Home & School liaison to Jenkintown Music Theatre. Volunteers are needed in all aspects of this major fundraiser and highly-regarded community event.

Membership Directory - Updates, reproduces and distributes H&S Directory.  The Directory is available for purchase at the Open Houses and throughout the year in the School Office.

Recreation Nights – Organizes several recreational & social events for the Elementary and Middle School students throughout the school year.  Participation of many parents is essential!  [ES] [MS]

Science Fair - Organizes Elementary Student Science fair in conjunction with Renaissance Night in the spring. [ES]

School Store – Organizes school store, buys items for store, coordinates parent volunteers to assist 6th-grade students with distributing items on a weekly basis.  [ES]

Emily Plomchok

Sixth Grade Graduation Reception – The 5th Grade parents organize the reception after the graduation.  Current Chairperson recruits the next year’s Chair and passes on the supplies and information. [ES]

Elizabeth Griffin

Special Needs - Liaison between parents of children with special education needs and school administration.  Assists in communication to parents and arranges speakers/programs.

Student Recognition Awards -

Assists teachers in purchasing and/or producing awards that recognize Middle School and High School students for their efforts, achievements and contributions to the school community. [MS] [HS]

School Garden – Coordinates activities related to the school garden project.

Yearbook Committee – Coordinates the production of a yearbook for the elementary school and oversees the yearbook afterschool club for students. [ES]
