Jenkintown Middle School/High School

H&S Meetings for School Year 2011-2012

All meetings are held in the Community Room, Jenkintown School.  Except for the June meeting, meetings will feature speakers discussing topics of interest to parents in the district. Prior to each listed meeting, the JHAS executive committee will meet from 7-7:30 pm to discuss business items. The business portion of the meeting is also open to anyone who would like to attend.

• Sept. 27, 7:30 - 9 pm (tentative date), topic: Metz, new cafeteria vendor
  
  
• Oct. 18, 7:30 - 9 pm, topics: Meet-n-greet with the new elementary, middle and high school teachers; new guidance program for  high school students (new teachers and Chrissy Kafkalas)

• Nov. 15, 7:30 - 9 pm, topic: Academic programs (Edith Guay will present information about the world language department and their use of technology throughout the curriculum)
  
  
• Jan. 17, 7:30 - 9 pm, topic: Academic and arts programs (music groups will perform; Andrew Spiegler will discuss the public speaking course and cinema in literature course. Yura Oh will discuss information pertaining to the World Affairs Council and the Micro Credit Club).

• Feb. 21, 7:30 - 9 pm, topic: Social Thinking program, Elementary School (Megan Knox)

• March 20, 7:30 - 9 pm, topic: School Budgetary Issues/Consolidation (Dr. Wade)
  
  
• June 5, 7:30 - 9 pm, H&S end-of-year business meeting
